A SUMMER trail aimed at encouraging children to eat healthier and getting the public out and about is a big hit.
The Evesham Fruit and Vegimals Summer Safari launched last week (July 24), and within the first two days, more than 10,000 people got involved.
With ten colourful characters hiding at businesses throughout Evesham and beyond, the trail aims to keep families entertained this Summer, all the while inspiring children to move away from ultra-processed foods and increasing footfall at businesses in Evesham.

Chair of the Evesham Place Board Phil Maclean said: “The Fruit & Vegimal Summer Safari is a wonderful example of how we can celebrate Evesham’s unique heritage in a fun, engaging, and family-friendly way.

“Our town has a proud history as one of the country’s most important fruit and vegetable-growing areas, and we wanted to create something that brings that story to life for a new generation.”
The Evesham Fruit and Vegimal Summer Safari was funded by The Valley and will end on September 6.

Mr Maclean said: “They are incredible.
“It’s such a brilliant trail and fun to do.
“Fun is number one on the list of why we created the trail.
“Second was to convey a healthy diet and to move children away from ultra-processed food.
“Third is to drive footfall into the town.

“I think people will be astonished by the quality of the fruit and vegimals.
“It’s a great free event that will hopefully keep the whole family entertained.
“Seeing how brilliant they are, I could explode; I’m that excited”
Trail maps are available at select locations and available to download online for free. By July 26, more than 9,100 trail maps had been downloaded.
