A PUBFLUENCER who has visited 10,000 pubs says this Worcester ale house is among the UK’s most remarkable.
Dale Harvey, one half of the Great British Pub Crawl alongside his wife, Holly, has called the Bull Baiters Ale and Cider House in St John’s one of the most amazing-looking pubs he has ever visited.
With over 245,000 followers on Facebook and 34,000 on YouTube, the Nottingham-based couple has been on a mission to visit every pub, micropub, and bar in the UK – visiting more than 10,000 since 2022.
The exact day the social media star visited the pub is unclear; however, in a video posted yesterday (July 30), Mr Harvey called the pub ‘stunning’, praised the cider and ales, and said the pub was home to multiple things he had never seen in the 6,600+ pubs he had already visited.
Mr Harvey said: “The Bull Baiters Ale and Cider House is quite an exquisite building. It’s stunning. The roof isn’t even; the old beams and stuff on the outside of it are absolutely beautiful.
“This might just have become my favourite thing in Worcester. It’s quite extraordinary, it really is.
“As an ale house, it’s very adequate; it’s more than adequate; it’s got a really good ale selection. It was a charity shop before it became a pub.
“There are some pretty special things in here to see. It has proper old school-looking pumps. To say this has only been a pub since 2016, they have done wonders with it. There are some quite special features in here. There are some things in here that I have never seen in a pub in 6,600 pubs.
“There’s a medieval torture chair, just casually sat in the corner. There’s an original painting that was found with the place. To add to the list of things you don’t see in a pub, well ever, a mummified cat. Petrified, mummified, whatever you want to call it, literally sat upstairs.
“If that wasn’t enough for you, there’s quite the beer garden space. Honestly, this has just become one of my favourite stop-offs in the whole of Worcester; I’m absolutely loving it. What an absolutely stunning place.”
