A popular shop inside Swindon’s Designer Outlet has announced its upcoming closure, after the company has ceased manufacturing.
Denby is a historic pottery brand that dates back to 1809, and the company currently has a branch inside Swindon’s Designer Outlet.
It’s now the latest business to announce it will be moving out of the shopping centre, as manufacturing has ceased and mass redundancies have been made.
The shop now says that “everything must go” and has launched a 60 per cent off sale, in preparation for the store closure.
Speaking to the Swindon Advertiser, staff in the Designer Outlet store say that no fixed date has been set yet, but the permanent closure is likely to take place in August of this year.

The closure of the Swindon store does not come as a surprise as just last month, administrators confirmed that 49 more workers had been made redundant at Denby Pottery and said the company had been struggling with rising energy and labour costs.
It’s a big blow for the business, which has been making stoneware in Derbyshire since the Industrial Revolution.
On May 21, the Government announced multimillion-pound funding packages for ceramics firms, which it said will support thousands of jobs.
Linsey Farnsworth, the Labour MP for Amber Valley, asked: “Can the Chancellor please commit to ensuring that funding is available as soon as possible in the hope that Denby can be saved?”
Ms Reeves said: “We are backing UK ceramics. We want to find a future for Denby.”

Although Swindon Designer Outlet is the latest branch to announce its closure, the company is continuing to accept online orders at discounted prices, in an effort to clear its warehouse.
“We are still accepting and fulfilling online orders as usual and we would like to reassure you that payment will not be taken until the point of dispatch,” said a spokesperson for Denby Pottery.
Denby isn’t the first business to announce it will be leaving the Swindon Designer Outlet this year.

In February, the Adver reported that the shopping centre’s branch of Russell and Bromley was reducing its already-discounted prices to clear stock before the business shuts for good.
Just two days later (January 23), Kilner Retail Store, which opened in the outlet less than two years ago, announced it would be closing.
Claire’s Accessories also closed its branch in April after collapsing into administration.
