Cricketer Ashley Giles in conversation at summer literary festival

Ashley Giles, Worcestershire County Cricket Club CEO, will be in conversation at a summer literary festival.

In a playing career spanning 16 years, Mr Giles spent his entire first class career with Warwickshire CCC and went on to represent England 116 times.

He was a crucial member of the 2005 Ashes winning team that regained the urn for the first time in 20 years.

Awarded an MBE in 2006 for services to cricket, he is an honorary citizen of Droitwich Spa and with his wife, Stine, launched the Giles Trust in 2015, which has now raised over £1.3 million for brain tumour treatment, research and support.

The event, part of the Alchemy of Words festival (May 29-June 5) at Script Haven, 5 Crown Passage, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, at 4.30pm.

Tickets are priced at £13.80 and can be purchased through We Got Tickets.
