Update on controversial 91-home development resisted for eight years

A parish council meeting will discuss latest plans for a controversial housing development resisted by locals for more than eight years.

Persimmon Homes will present proposals for unreserved matters regarding the development near Doverdale Park Homes at the next Hampton Lovett parish council meeting.

Planning permission for the construction of 91 homes around Doverdale Park, Hampton Lovett, was approved by Wychavon councillors in February 2025.

Two previous applications by Beechcroft Land Ltd were rejected by planning inspectors.

Cllr Ken Jacques, secretary of the Doverdale Park Residents Association, said: “This has been resisted for over eight years so should prove an interesting meeting and a chance to report the developer’s plans and the responses from the overwhelming lion’s share of the affected parish.”

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27 at 6.45pm in Salwarpe Village Hall.
