A man has appeared in court charged with a month-long shoplifting spree.

Joshua Philpott, 30, of no fixed abode, appeared at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (May 19) facing 11 counts of shoplifting committed between April 2 and April 28.

While on bail, he is banned from several shops including all Tesco stores in England and Wales.

Philpott pleaded guilty to six counts, including stealing £87 worth of chocolate on April 2, a Yazoo milkshake and washing products worth £30.10 on April 3, and lamb steaks worth £16.80 on April 4, all from a Tesco Express in Redditch.

He also admitted to £53.95 of washing products from a B&M in Worcester on April 10, and bacon and butter worth £34.20 from a One Stop in Malvern.

However, the 30-year-old denied five counts of theft from the same Tesco Express on Madresfield Road, Malvern, totalling £111.40, on April 27.

At 7.38am, he is alleged to have stolen burgers and ribs worth £20, followed by the theft of burgers, chicken breasts, and ribs worth £35 at 9.31am, a YOP drink and pitta bread worth £4.40 at 1.37pm, Milky Way desserts worth £2 at 1.41pm, and more ribs and burgers worth £50 at 9.43pm.

Philpott will next appear at Worcester Magistrates’ Court on October 19 for trial.

While he is on bail, Philpott is banned from entering B&M, Silver Street, Worcester, One Stop, Pickersleigh Road, Malvern, and any Tesco in England and Wales.
