RAF plane spotted flying over Worcester as apartment buildings shake

BUILDINGS shook as a military aircraft flew over in Worcester.

The Airbus A440M Atlas was seen by residents flying over the city on Wednesday afternoon (May 20).

One woman in St Peters said: “It really scared me as my apartment building shook because it was very low.”

With a length of 42.2 meters and a wingspan of 42.4 meters, the A440M is one of the largest aircraft operated by the RAF, and can carry up to 116 passengers.

The planes are based a short flight away from the city at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire.
