A training band is looking to welcome new players to its friendly and supportive group.
Bret Prep, the training band of Bretforton Silver Band, is seeking new members.
Mainly on the hunt for cornet players, although musicians of all brass band disciplines are very welcome.
Players should ideally be around Grade 3 standard and able to read music, and instruments can be provided free of charge.
Rehearsals take place on Sunday mornings during term time, from 10.30am to 11.15am at the band’s own building on School Lane in Bretforton.
The band performs regularly throughout the year. Upcoming public appearances include Pershore Midsummer Brass on Saturday, July 4, the Bretforton Village Proms on Saturday, July 18, and The Bretforton Band Supporters’ Fete at The Fleece Inn for the August Bank Holiday Monday.
A number of festive engagements has also been pencilled in for the later part of the year.
For complete beginners, the band also runs Bret Set Go at 10am on Sundays, which welcomes new learners of all ages—no previous experience required.
