THE new managers of a community pub in Droitwich are ready to pull their first pints in the recently renovated venue.
The Westcroft, on Ombersley Street West, will reopen its doors next month under the management of Scott Flear and Dan Lancaster and a £273K refurbishment.
Mr Flear and Mr Lancaster hope to bring their combined 14 years of industry experience to create a lively social hub for local residents to enjoy.

“We’re thrilled to be taking over The Westcroft and have loved seeing the incredible transformation come to life over the past few weeks,” said Mr Flear, operator of The Westcroft.
“The pub is already looking terrific, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming back customers, both old and new.”
The pub will reopen on May 1 with new flooring, fixtures, and fittings throughout plus five flat-screen televisions.
It will be revamped to include an updated main bar and snug area.
Outside, The Westcroft will have new lighting and signage to greet customers, as well as a refurbished garden seating area for 45-50 people.
The pub will officially reopen to the community at 11am on May 1.
Mr Flear and Mr Lancaster hope to host a busy schedule of entertainment for customers to enjoy, including weekly music with alternating live performances and karaoke on Fridays and Saturdays.
The two also hope to support all aspects of community life by collecting food to donate to the local foodbank as well as raising money to have a lifesaving defibrillator installed.
Nikki Greenhalgh, operations director for Proper Pubs, said: “It’s a real pleasure to welcome Scott and Dan to The Westcroft and it’s great to see how well the refurbishment is coming along.
“We’re just working on getting those final finishing touches in place before reopening in a couple of weeks’ time.
“On behalf of myself and the whole Proper Pubs team, we would like to wish Scott and Dan the very best of luck in their endeavours at The Westcroft – it’s great to have them on board.”
The pub is part of Proper Pubs, the wet-led operator division of Admiral Taverns, which operates more than 200 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales.
