Cafe’s plea as nearby play area goes under six-week refurbishment

A CAFE has issued a plea for visitors to continue to visit while refurbishment works are carried out nearby.

With an upcoming six-week closure of the play area in Victoria Park, Candy Harris, the owner of Bilberry Café has reminded visitors that the business will be open as normal.

“Bilberry Café will remain open to the public as usual during the upcoming renovation works at Victoria Park,” she said.

Works are expected to start on the main play area in the popular park later this month and continue throughout May.

Nonetheless, the toddler play area will remain open as usual.

“Hopefully by the end of May, it will all be done and dusted,” said Malvern Town Council clerk Linda Blake during a recent meeting.

“The park is going to be closed for six weeks but we will keep the toddler area open.”

Ms Harris has assured customers that it will be business as usual for the café, which is located inside the park’s community hub.

The basketball courts are also expected to remain open.

“Despite the temporary disruption caused by the renovations, the café will continue to welcome visitors, offering its usual range of food and refreshments,” Ms Harris said.

“In addition, the toddler play area will remain open and accessible throughout the renovation period.

“The park’s basketball courts and tennis courts will also remain open, and the area will continue to be available and popular for dog walking.

“Local residents and park visitors are encouraged to continue supporting the café and making use of the park during this time.”
