A man has died following a crash involving a heavy goods vehicle near the M5 which has resulted in a driver being arrested.
A pedestrian has died on the A38 Rashwood Junction to the M5 at Junction 5 northbound, near Wychbold.
The collision occurred at around 9.10pm on Thursday evening. A pedestrian has died at the scene.
A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He is currently in custody assisting with enquiries.

The A38 Rashwood Junction remained closed overnight and will be re opened as soon as possible.
PC Rory Grint-Smith said “Our thoughts are with the family of man who has died following this collision. We are carrying out a full investigation to establish what has happened and would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have information or dashcam footage to assist with enquiries to come forward.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle, a MAN Tractor heavy goods vehicle in white, with a green trailer to please get in touch.”

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11.44pm to a lorry which had overturned on the Junction 5 Roundabout of the M5 in Dodderhill, Wychbold. One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Upon arrival we found one patient. Unfortunately it was clear that nothing could be done to save them and they were confirmed deceased at the scene.”
