Huge queues at rush hour after crash on main city road

THERE were huge queues at rush hour after a crash on a main road in Worcester.

Two cars, a Fiat 500 and a Range Rover, were stopped near the traffic lights outside the Lidl supermarket on Newtown Road on Tuesday afternoon (May 5).

The Fiat 500 was left sideways in the road, blocking the lane heading in the direction of Ronkswood.

The lane to turn right onto Sheriff Street was also blocked by the Range Rover.

There were at least three police cars called to the scene, with officers directing traffic and clearing the road of debris.

Traffic was slow along Newtown Road, with vehicles backed up all the way to the top of the hill.

By 4.45pm, both vehicles had been moved and police left the scene.
