A COMIC-Con event has proven to be as popular as ever following its most recent visit to the city.
Worcester Comic-Con, organised by Bolt Events, returned to the University of Worcester Arena on Sunday (September 6) for a day celebrating all things film, TV, video games, and comics.
Bolt Events’ Comic-Con, now in its fourth year in the city, has always proved popular with fans.

Zoe Cross, director of Bolt Events, said: “Today has gone really well. We got a lot of regulars who come to the event, so it is nice to see all the families, and especially the children, growing up.
“In the beginning, I think it was very much a Comic-Con. It was very much about traders and cosplay.

“Now, we have brought the community side into it as well. Because people have been coming for so many years, it is like bringing the family of Worcester into the event.
“We have an awful lot of support from Worcester, and I think that is where it has evolved: watching the children grow and encouraging them to get involved in things such as cosplay.”

One of the day’s biggest events is the cosplay competitions, with many people suited up as their favourite characters choosing to take part.
Alongside these competitions, a market hall gave visitors the chance to visit traders selling items ranging from Funko Pops and Lego to trading cards and rare collectables.

Bolt Events will be back again for another round in just a few months’ time.
Ms Cross said: “We are going to be back in February.”
Worcester Comic-Con will return to the University of Worcester Arena on February 7, 2027.
