Trio sentenced over robbery and stabbing in Warndon alleyway

THREE men have been sentenced after a man was stabbed in a robbery.

Mark Payne-Lundy, 37, Arefa Tshitoeng and Alfie Semmens, both 18, appeared at Worcester Crown Court on Friday (June 26) to be sentenced for the violent attack and robbery of a man in a Worcester alley last year.

The trio had attacked the man with a kitchen knife before stealing his phone and mountain bike in an alleyway by Sainsbury’s Blackpole, Windermere Drive, on September 24, 2025.

Payne-Lundy had denied robbery, grievous bodily harm with intent, and possessing a knife in a public place in court, but was found guilty of the offences in May following a trial.

Tshitoeng, who was under 18 at the time of the trial and could not legally be identified, was also found guilty of robbery and GBH with intent in May, while Semmens was found guilty of GBH with intent on the same day, after admitting to the robbery in March.

This means the 37-year-old will serve a maximum of 10 years behind bars.

Tshitoeng, of Hollymount, Worcester, was sentenced to four years detention in a young offenders’ institution for both robbery and GBH with intent, which will also be served concurrently.

He will also be required to follow a 12-hour curfew between 7pm to 7am for the next three months.
