Meanwhile, a fundraiser has been launched in his memory to help raise money for a memorial bench for Mr Gormley, who was born in 1982.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise £1,800 for the bench and funeral expenses but is now understood to have reached its target.

Details of when, where and how Mr Gormley died have not been publicly shared by his family, only that he died earlier this year. Although it is understood he died in recent days.

On the fundraising GoFundMe page, he was described as a ‘funny, caring person’.

Organisers hope the bench will offer a place for family and friends to gather and remember him.

Any funds raised beyond the cost of the bench will go towards cremation and funeral expenses.

A statement from the fundraiser said: “There is no pressure to donate.

“Every contribution, no matter how small, will help.

“If you aren’t able to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser would mean a lot to us and help us reach our goal.”

Donations can be made through the GoFundMe page titled “In Memory of Tom Gormley.”
