A WOMAN has been unable to bathe her new-born baby after being denied emergency housing.
Stephanie Wade spoke of her horror after her daughter Skye and her two grandchildren were left without water in their flat, just 10 months on from initially buying it.
She claims her daughter was denied emergency housing, stating Rooftop Housing said she can travel to her family’s homes to wash herself and her children.
However, she said Skye is unable to do this because she had a C-section just three weeks ago as her daughter was born.
A spokesperson for Rooftop Housing Group said it is working hard to resolve the matter.

Her daughter Skye initially moved into the accommodation in September 2025, purchasing it under shared ownership with Rooftop. The flat is based in St Peter’s, on a new-build estate.
She claims Skye’s heating packed up in November and was not fixed until April, leaving her and her then four-year-old child without warmth throughout winter.
After that was fixed in April, Stephanie now claims the water hasn’t worked – leaving her unable to bathe her now five-year-old daughter and three-week-old baby.
She added that workers have come out on six separate occasions to try and fix it but it has never been done, with two of the six visits involving workers bringing the incorrect parts.

“I’m not just frustrated, I’m angry,” said Stephanie Wade.
“She can’t bathe her kids. I’m picking up my granddaughter to take her to my house and wash her because she can’t bathe at home.
“They said because she can come to mine for a shower, they’re not prepared to offer emergency housing. They just really don’t care.
“I’m angry they won’t do anything. They are leaving her and she is a nurse so hygiene is very important as a nurse.
“I’m sure they wouldn’t like it if they went to her for treatment and she kept refusing it.
“It’s disgusting that they can do this to people.
“As a mum I’m quite pushy, but if it was a little old lady in a flat, she could be without water for months and months and months and nobody would do anything.”

A spokesperson for Rooftop Housing Group said: “We understand how distressing this must be for this family; however, we are working hard to resolve the matter.
“While operatives have attended multiple times, they have not always been able to access the property.
“An appointment has been arranged with the customer to investigate and carry out the repair.”
