A banking hub is set to become a permanent fixture in Pershore.
The new hub will remain at the same site where it has successfully operated on a temporary basis for two years, subject to contracts, providing long-term access to face-to-face financial services.
Charlie MacIntire, town clerk at Pershore Town Council, said: “We are extremely pleased to have secured the permanent banking hub in its current location.
“Over the last two years, residents have become accustomed to accessing banking services from this site, and it was important to us to preserve the convenience of having two valued community services operating together.
“I would like to thank our partners at the County Council Library Services team and Cash Access UK for their collaborative approach in helping us achieve this positive outcome for the town.”
The council worked in partnership with the County Council Library Services team and Cash Access UK to secure the hub’s future and keep the service under one roof alongside the library.
To accommodate the hub’s permanent placement, the library building will be upgraded to improve customer flow and accessibility.
The works will include a dedicated entrance for banking hub users and a larger, more accessible interior space.
Residents are assured that library services will continue as normal throughout the refurbishment.
During the upgrade, the temporary banking hub will be relocated to an upstairs area within the building and will remain fully operational.
Banking hub staff will be on hand to support customers who need assistance using the lift.
Mrs MacIntire said: “Importantly, by retaining the banking hub within Town Council-owned property, this arrangement will provide a long-term source of income for the council.
“This income can then be reinvested into maintaining and improving public assets, delivering lasting benefits for our community.”
