Santa’s Grotto and elf trail coming to Worcester’s Commandery this December

Santa’s Grotto is coming to The Commandery.

The festive attraction will be part of a Christmas celebration weekend at the historic Worcester venue on Saturday, December 12, and Sunday, December 13.

The family-friendly event will feature seasonal music, activities, crafts, and refreshments.

Children will also have the chance to meet Santa in the venue’s Victorian kitchen, where each child will receive a gift.

Helen Manning, events officer at The Commandery, said: “We are so pleased to welcome Santa to The Commandery this Christmas.

“It promises to be a magical weekend, and visiting Santa’s Grotto at The Commandery is a festive, fun experience all the family will remember.”

The building will be decorated for the season, and families can follow an elf-themed trail as part of the fun.

Children will be able to hunt for tiny elf doors hidden throughout the building and listen to stories from Mother Christmas.

The trail and craft activities are free for the weekend only.

Visitors can enjoy festive treats including mulled wine, mince pies, and hot chocolate in the Great Hall.

Little Al’s Kitchen will also be open, serving homemade toasties and drinks.

Santa’s Grotto tickets must be booked in advance as space is limited.

Bookings can be made at museumsworcestershire.org.uk.

General admission to The Commandery applies to all visitors and can be booked online or paid for on arrival.

Entry is free for holders of a Commandery Residents’ Pass, season ticket, or Commandery Membership, though Santa’s Grotto tickets must still be purchased separately.

Families can enjoy the day’s activities without visiting the grotto if they choose.
