A planning application has been submitted for the use of land as a caravan site.
The part-retrospective proposal is for five pitches on land at OS 7892 3082 The Old Barn, Malvern Road, Staunton, with each pitch accommodating two static caravans, two touring caravans, and one day room, intended for Gypsy and Traveller use.
The application seeks to “regularise” the site, as changes made during the implementation of earlier permissions did not adhere to the approved plans.
The pitches are designed to meet the needs of the existing site occupants.

According to planning documents, the site is not in a protected landscape, is far enough from other residential properties to maintain their privacy, and is already accepted as a Gypsy and Traveller site.
The land is accessed from the B4208 via a hard-surfaced, gated vehicle entrance which has good visibility in both directions and is set back from the highway to allow vehicles to safely pull off the road before entering the site.
The application M/26/01055/FUL is open to feedback until September 12.
