A 20-year-old suspected drug dealer has been arrested following a police pursuit on the motorway as drugs were thrown out of a van window during an attempted getaway.
The incident began around 3am on Monday, September 14, when officers from the Roads Policing Unit spotted a van on the M5 that had flagged up on police systems.
Gloucestershire Constabulary said the driver failed to stop, leading to a pursuit along the motorway.
The van exited at junction 12 for Gloucester, where officers observed suspected drugs being thrown from the vehicle.

The chase ended in the Quedgeley area, where the driver abandoned the van and attempted to flee on foot.
Officers pursued the man and detained him nearby. A search of the area led to the recovery of discarded bags of suspected drugs along the pursuit route. The van was also searched, revealing a large quantity of suspected drugs and bank notes.
A 20-year-old man from Emersons Green, South Gloucestershire, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, possession with intent to supply class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, driving without third-party insurance, driving without a licence, and driving while above the legal drug limit.
He remains in police custody for questioning.
