A motorist has been fined more than £7,000 and banned from driving for 12 months.
Anthony Gauntlett, 54, from Kidderminster, received 36 penalty points and a year-long ban in addition to his hefty fine at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court, following seven speeding offences, as well as the failure to provide correct driver details.
The offences occurred in Worcestershire between March 2025 and February 2026.
On each occasion, Gauntlett tried to evade detection by providing false or incorrect information instead of identifying the driver.
Mr Gauntlett was found guilty of seven Section 172 offences and ordered to pay a £4620 fine, £770 in costs and a £2000 victim surcharge.
A West Mercia Police spokesman said: “Speeding isn’t a minor mistake, it’s a choice that puts lives at risk.”
“We will continue to enforce the speed limit and investigate those who try to evade responsibility.”
