A MAN has been found guilty of trying to rape and sexually abusing children.
David Cruz, 22, of Lichfield Road, Worcester, was convicted of a series of sexual offences at Worcester Crown Court on Thursday (May 21) following a trial.
Cruz was found guilty of one count of attempting to rape a girl under 13, one count of assault on a girl under 13 by touching, and three counts of inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity between February 2019 and February 2021.
The victim of these offences was under the age of 11 when they took place.
He was also found guilty of two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl between 13 and 15 when over 18, which were committed between October 2022 and January 2023.
The jury found Cruz not guilty of three further offences: two counts of rape of a girl under 13 and one count of inciting a girl under 13 into sexual activity, which were alleged to have been committed between February 2019 and February 2021.
Cruz was remanded into custody and will next appear at Worcester Crown Court for sentencing on a date which is yet to be decided.
