Hundreds of bank branches disappeared from the high street last year as they shut their doors for good, and a similar number are set to shut in 2026.
Among them are 87 set to close their doors for good in the coming weeks, with Natwest, Lloyds, the Bank of Scotland, and Halifax closing branches this month.
All of the businesses have cited the increase in the number of people banking online rather than in person as one of the reasons behind the planned branch closures.
