A COUNTY park has cancelled all barbecue bookings for the coming weeks following concerns over dry ground conditions and an increased risk of fire.
Park managers at Worcester Woods Country Park revealed on Facebook that they made the decision following government advice issued on Friday evening.
It is also after a series of large fires across the West Midlands this week.

A spokesperson said: “Currently the ground conditions in the Country Park are very dry and we feel this is the safest course of action.
“We haven’t taken this decision lightly as we are aware that the BBQ is a community asset used by local groups regularly, but we felt on balance after the large fires experienced this week in the West Midlands and advice from the local fire service, that we will be cautious in this situation.
“We will be reviewing this decision in the coming weeks.
“Any BBQ hirers who have bookings until the end of August have been contacted.
“We will contact hirers who have bookings in September once a decision has been made about whether bookings can still go ahead.”
