Nature reserve car park to close as ‘considerable time clearing fireworks’ last year

THE car park at Tiddesley Wood will temporarily close in a bid to protect wildlife from fireworks and after issues last year.

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust said the car park will close at 3pm on Thursday, November 5, and reopen at 9am on Monday, November 9.

The trust said fireworks can cause significant distress to wildlife, leaving animals scared and disorientated, as well as causing litter and pollution.

A spokesperson for Worcestershire Wildlife Trust said: “Last year, we spent considerable time clearing up discarded fireworks and we have also seen an increase in other anti-social behaviour at the site this year.

“We have therefore taken the decision to temporarily close the car park to help protect the woodland and the wildlife that calls it home.

“Thank you for your understanding.”
