Councillor Dan Birch and Rachel Harrison, directors of Droitwich Friends and Businesses CIC, said: “When we first came up with the idea of hosting a business awards evening back in June, we don’t think any of us quite anticipated just how successful it would become.
“To have more than 260 people in one room, celebrating the very best of Droitwich Spa, was absolutely fantastic, and the response from businesses and the wider community has been overwhelming.

“Some of our favourite moments from the evening weren’t necessarily the award presentations themselves, but the smiles, hugs, celebrations and even a few tears.
“Seeing just how much the recognition meant to people really brought home why we wanted to organise these awards in the first place.”

Business owners, community groups, sponsors and civic leaders attended the evening, including Droitwich and Evesham MP Nigel Huddleston and Mayor of Droitwich Spa Councillor Sue Brazier.
More than 1,200 nominations were submitted, and around 2,500 public votes were cast.
A total of 45 finalists were shortlisted across 15 award categories, including hospitality, independent businesses, young entrepreneurs and unsung community heroes.

The event also gave businesses a chance to connect and celebrate each other’s achievements.
Organisers hope the awards will become a regular part of the Droitwich Spa calendar.

“We hope this is just the beginning of something that will continue to grow and celebrate the very best of Droitwich Spa for many years to come.”
Droitwich Friends and Businesses CIC supports the town centre and wider community through events and initiatives.
