MP urges residents to vote for best pub in Droitwich and Evesham

RESIDENTS are being encouraged to raise a glass for their favourite pub in Evesham and Droitwich.

Nigel Huddleston MP is calling on residents in Droitwich, Evesham and surrounding villages to take part in his 2026 Constituency Pub of the Year competition, now in its final week.

Mr Huddleston said: “Our pubs are so much more than somewhere to go for a drink.

“They are at the heart of communities across Droitwich, Evesham and our villages, bringing people together, supporting local jobs and making a major contribution to our local economy.

“The fact that pubs and brewing support almost 1,600 jobs in the constituency and generate nearly £48 million for our local economy shows just how important the sector is.”

Now in its second year, the competition gives residents a chance to celebrate the pubs that play a vital role in their communities.

Participating pubs have been displaying special beer mats with a QR code, making it easy for customers to vote for their favourite spot.

The final week of voting coincides with new research highlighting the economic impact of pubs and brewing in the area.

According to Oxford Economics and the British Beer and Pub Association, the Droitwich and Evesham constituency is home to 92 pubs and three breweries, supporting 1,592 jobs and contributing £47.6 million in gross value added.

The sector also generates £28.4 million in total wages, contributes £18.7 million in tax, and accounts for £3 million in capital investment.

Mr Huddleston added: “I have been delighted to see local pubs getting involved in this year’s Pub of the Year competition, and I am extremely grateful to every pub that has taken part and every resident who has already voted.

“There is now just one week left to have your say, so if your local is participating, please get behind them and cast your vote.”

Voting closes on Friday, October 30, with the winning pub set to be announced shortly thereafter.

Residents can vote by scanning the QR code on the official Constituency Pub of the Year beer mats in participating pubs.

In 2025, The Bridge Inn and Ferry in Offenham won the award.
