Glass artist behind cathedral’s Perpetual Flame to give talk

An internationally renowned glass artist is set to give a talk in Worcester.

Allister Malcolm created the Perpetual Flame sculpture at Worcester Cathedral, a beautiful hand-crafted glass sculpture inspired by the act of lighting a votive candle to remember and celebrate loved ones.

Malcolm is known for his commitment to sustainability. He was the first glass artist in the UK to convert from gas-fired furnaces to electrically powered equipment and has worked extensively with manufacturers to develop more sustainable glassmaking technology.

An Evening with Allister Malcolm is at the Old Palace on Thursday, November 26. Tickets for the event, which includes a complimentary drink, are £15.
