A new petrol station and drive-through coffee shop could be built at a former outdoor clothing shop.
The scheme has been proposed for land at Oldfields of Ombersley, just off the A449 north of Ombersley village.
The site is currently occupied by a country clothing and equestrian shop and was previously home to The Reindeer pub. Plans are now with Wychavon District Council for a decision.
We reported in January how it was announced that Oldfields of Ombersley was closing after 10 years at that location.

The application has been submitted by EG On The Move Ltd and includes a petrol filling station with a four-pump canopy, an ancillary retail kiosk, a drive-through coffee shop, a car wash facility, customer parking, and landscaping.
The development would require the demolition of all existing buildings on the site.
A landscape and visual impact assessment, prepared by DEP Landscape Architecture, describes the site as “previously developed land” and “brownfield.”
The report states: “It is proposed to demolish all built development and construct a petrol filling station (PFS) with an ancillary kiosk/retail store (Sui Generis), and a drive-through coffee shop (Class E), together with a new car wash facility, access, parking, landscaping, and other various infrastructure works.
“The retail store will comprise of the petrol filling station kiosk and an area for the sale of convenience goods.”

The petrol station would include four pumps in a central island formation, allowing up to eight vehicles to refuel at once.

The retail kiosk would be located to the south of the pump island.
Sixteen customer parking spaces are planned, including two disabled bays and four electric vehicle charging bays.

A single vehicle entry and exit point is proposed from Uphampton Lane to the north.
The site covers 3,340 square metres and is bordered by residential properties to the south and agricultural land to the west.

The surrounding area is designated as open countryside and is identified for “Green Infrastructure Protect and Enhance” in the local development plan.
There are no statutory heritage, landscape, or ecological designations affecting the site, and it is not subject to any tree preservation orders.
The site is also in Flood Risk Zone 1, meaning it is at low risk of flooding.
The location has changed little over the past 20 years.
Most recently, it has housed Oldfields of Ombersley, an equestrian clothing and tack shop, and Azure Garden Buildings, a garden building supplier.
The assessment notes that the site lies outside a defined settlement boundary but is considered brownfield due to its previous use.
