What passengers need to know as no trains run to Worcester station for one day

ADVICE has been issued to passengers ahead of disruption to trains in Worcester for one day.

No trains will run to Worcester Shrub Hill station on Sunday, October 4, while engineering works take place.

West Midlands Railway trains

West Midlands Railway said affected services would instead start and terminate at Worcester Foregate Street

A rail replacement bus will run between Foregate Street and Shrub Hill.

Great Western Railway trains

Great Western Railway services will also be affected, with trains between London Paddington and Shrub Hill, Foregate Street, Great Malvern and Hereford to terminate and start at Worcestershire Parkway.

Trains to Worcestershire Parkway will depart from Evesham and Pershore and arrive at Worcestershire Parkway a few minutes later than normal.

Meanwhile, trains from Worcestershire Parkway will depart Worcestershire Parkway and Pershore, and arrive in Evesham, a few minutes earlier than normal.

There will be replacement buses running hourly between Worcestershire Parkway, Worcester Shrub Hill, Worcester Foregate Street, Malvern Link and Great Malvern for West Midlands Railway connections to and from Colwall, Ledbury and Hereford.

At Worcester Foregate Street and Malvern Link, buses from Worcestershire Parkway to Great Malvern will stop to drop off only and most buses from Great Malvern to Worcestershire Parkway will stop to pick up only.

The 9.50pm train from London Paddington to Worcester Shrub Hill will terminate at Evesham, with a replacement bus to run from Evesham to Pershore, Worcestershire Parkway and Worcester Shrub Hill.

Passengers have been warned that replacement buses may be “busier than usual”.
