WORK has begun on a major refurbishment of a popular Worcester restaurant.
Orange bollards blocking off the entrance to Zizzi in Cathedral Square have appeared as the High Street chain begins work on a “seriously exciting glow-up”.
The Italian chain restaurant closed its doors on September 21 to allow contractors to begin work on the business.
The closure follows speculation on social media that the Worcester branch had shut permanently, which the company has since moved to dispel.
The restaurant is expected to remain closed for around two weeks while the refurbishment is carried out.

In a message to customers, the business said: “Zizzi Worcester is getting a seriously exciting glow-up.
“We’re giving the restaurant a bold new look, so we’ll be closing our doors from September 21 for a couple of weeks while we work our magic.”
What date will Zizzi in Worcester reopen?
The company has confirmed it plans to reopen on October 6, when diners can see the revamped venue for the first time.
The announcement added: “We’ll be back on 6th October with a fresh new look, and of course, all your Zizzi favourites.
“Book your table now and be among the first to check out our new look.
“We can’t wait to welcome you back.”
Zizzi has yet to reveal exactly what changes are being made as part of the refurbishment, but customers have been promised a “bold new look” when the restaurant reopens next month.
