New video service allows BSL users to contact council

A new video service now allows British Sign Language users to contact the County Council.

SignVideo, a Video Relay Service, connects users with a qualified interpreter via a secure platform.

The interpreter then communicates with the relevant council service on the resident’s behalf.

Currently, the service can be used to reach Worcestershire County Council Customer Services, The Adult Front Door, The Family Front Door, and The Emergency Duty Team for Adults and Children’s Social Care.

The latter provides support in emergencies where an individual is at risk of harm and cannot wait until the next working day.

More services may be added in the future.

Further information about the available services and how to use SignVideo is on the Worcestershire County Council website.
