Step back in time on Royal Worcester factory site tour

A free walking tour will offer visitors the chance to explore the original Royal Worcester factory site in Worcester.

Museum staff will lead the walk around the historic factory grounds, where six wall-mounted Hallmarks reveal the legacy of Worcester porcelain. Each marker combines original architectural drawings of the historic kilns with the transfer prints that helped make Worcester porcelain world-famous.

Visitors will also see local historic photographs and hear insights from their guide. They are encouraged to bring a smartphone to scan QR codes on the markers, unlocking audio soundtracks recreating the sights, sounds and stories of the pottery where they happened.

The 30-minute guided Heritage Open Day tour will take place at the Museum of Royal Worcester, Severn Street.

Tours start at 1.30pm on Saturday, September 12, Tuesday, September 15, and Thursday, September 17. Pre-booking required.
