SO! A symphony of sounding brass across Pershore provides an attractive event for all.
Harmonies and melodies, cornets, trombones and timpani all to the fore.
In various locations across the ancient town and at different times in the day, 40 bands strut their wares – striking tunics, waving banners and above all, beautiful, mesmerising sound!
It’s the Pershore Midsummer Brass Festival.
And in each venue, quietly observing, are the official event photographers from Worcestershire Camera Club.
They are looking for – and capturing – those unforgettable moments.
Perhaps a brilliant soloist taking the audience to heavenly realms or a conductor colourfully flamboyant in stirring his band or a sentimental moment as the music stirs deep places in the heart.
Worcestershire Camera Club welcomes such opportunities to freely serve and, beyond that, to develop our artistry.
But there is also an underlying, broader purpose for the club – to promote photography, train photographers and create a social environment for photographers.
But what does it feel like in joining for the first time?
New members are welcomed at our Tuesday evening welcome desk by Liz Gillham.
Liz says: “No-one should feel hesitant about joining the club, whoever you are young or old.
“We welcome all ages, women as well as men, and all levels of ability.”
Membership secretary Duncan Locke will share the opportunities offered by the club to suit your interests and experience.
You can expect to enjoy club life from the first and to make early progress.
A beginner’s course is in prospect.
Many members appreciate the many Zoom events and our on-line teaching, even if unable to attend events in person.
You may like to enjoy frequent coffee meet-ups and social events at attractive locations around the city.
For a modern, forward-looking, welcoming camera club, you need look no further than Worcestershire Camera Club.
The club invites applications for membership with the new club season having started on September 1.
