Full list of all winners at the Worcestershire Health and Social Care Awards

Outstanding care and dedication have been celebrated at this year’s Worcestershire Health and Social Care Awards.

The ceremony took place on September 3 at the Bank House in Bransford and recognised individuals and teams across the county for their exceptional contributions to health and social care.

Full list of all Worcestershire Health and Social Care Awards 2026 winners:

– Best Health Care Employer: Ashwell Care

Deb and Phil Ashwell said: “This is absolutely amazing. We have the most amazing team to support everything we do and make a difference. We are winners every day.”

– GP Practice of the Year: Bewdley Medical Centre

Bewdley Medical Centre staff who attended the awards evening said: “We are ecstatic and delighted. Of course we wanted to win. It’s recognition of everyone’s hard work. It’s a fantastic place to work. This award is down to every single person who works here. We are so proud of everyone.”

– The Mental Health Award: Griffin Mariga

Mr Mariga said: “I feel great. What a surprise. It’s all thanks to my family, both at work and at home. It is great to be recognised.”

– The Child and Adolescent Health Care Award: Grace Paige

She said: “I’m shocked and amazed. I’m privileged to do my job, and I love it. This is the icing on the cake. I’m blown away. This was not expected.”

– The Palliative or End of Life Award: Cityside Neighbourhood Team.

Reacting to the win, the group said: “We are speechless. We are really proud of the team and the care we deliver. It’s not easy, but it is great to be acknowledged. We are really grateful.”

– The Dementia Carer or Team: Valentine Tichareva

Valentine Tichareva said: “I feel great. This was not expected. I’m lost for words. It was amazing just to be recognised, let alone win.” 

– The Care Home Worker / Team Award: Ruann Prins

Mr Prins said: “I’m a bit surprised. It’s nice to be honoured. We always strive to do more.”

– The Domiciliary Care Worker or Team: Maria Gumenyuk

Ms Gumenyuk said: “I’m very proud of me and my company. I want to say thank you to my seniors, Deb and Phil. It is fantastic. They are my family.” 

– The NHS Team of the Year: Falls Response Team, Platform Housing

Lauren Adam said: “This is brilliant. It is the team’s award. It means everything. We get loads of compliments all the time from people when we are out and about, but it is nice to be publicised.” 

– Oral Healthcare Professional of the Year Award: Robyn Harding

Ms Harding said: “I couldn’t imagine this. I’m shocked, surprised, lost for words, all of the above. I’m absolutely shaking.”

– The Good Nurse Award: Jenny Gordon

She said: “I’m a bit overwhelmed. This is out of my comfort zone. It’s nice to be recognised. I’m lucky to have a great team, and I think that is half the reason behind why I am where I am.” 

– NHS Hero Award: Dr Steven Haynes

Mr Haynes said: “I’m just gobsmacked to have been nominated, let alone win. Its extrodinary. I’m part of a very big team of people who work hard every day. It was lovely just to be nominated.”
