TUCKED away in the Worcestershire countryside is a garden centre that visitors have described as a “hidden treasure” with gardens that have featured on TV.
Often missed by motorists travelling through rural Worcestershire, Whitlenge Gardens and Tearoom is one of those places many visitors say they stumble across by accident.
The site itself is hidden on a Whitlenge Lane just off the busy Kidderminster Road.

The family-run destination features more than three acres of show gardens known as its “Gardens within Gardens”, designed to provide inspiration for gardeners while offering a peaceful escape in the countryside.

The site has even attracted national attention, having featured on ITV’s Love Your Garden with Alan Titchmarsh, while owners Keith and Fran Southall have also been recognised by the National Garden Scheme for opening their gardens to the public for 30 years.

Inside the garden is a twisted brick pillar pergola, a solid oak moongate and a four-turreted, mini moated castle folly with a vertical wall planter set between two waterfalls.

After exploring the gardens, visitors can stop at Whitlenge’s tearoom, which serves homemade meals, breakfasts, afternoon teas, sandwiches and cakes.
The adjoining gift shop specialises in unique gifts, including products from local artists and craftspeople.

The venue has earned a 4.1-star rating from more than 300 Tripadvisor reviews and holds a Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice award, placing it among the platform’s top-rated attractions.

Others highlighted the relaxed feel of the attraction, with one visitor describing it as a “quiet corner of green space” and another praising its “very relaxed atmosphere”.
The attraction’s themed seasonal events have also proved popular, particularly its Halloween displays and Christmas trail, with one Tripadvisor reviewer describing the Halloween transformation as “one of the best we’d ever seen”.
