Man caught without seatbelt was caught by notorious speed camera weeks later

A DRIVER who was caught without a seatbelt was caught speeding by a notorious speed camera weeks later.

Jordan Miller, 41, was driving a Mercedes on Main Street in Defford without a seatbelt last summer.

Just 11 weeks later, the speed camera on the A4103 in Leigh Sinton caught him breaking the 30mph limit.

He pleaded guilty to driving without a seatbelt and speeding at Redditch Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 10.

For the seatbelt incident, Miller, of Turnpike Close, Great Witley, was fined £216.

For speeding, he was fined £216 and given three points on his licence. He was also ordered to pay £450 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a £173 surcharge.

Miller avoided a driving ban as it was argued that this would result in his three employees losing their jobs and would mean his children would struggle to get to school.
