A popular tearoom at a historic National Trust property is closed for two days because of the heatwave.
The Court Tearoom at Croome will close during this week’s heatwave, with the visitor centre café offering a limited hot food menu on Wednesday, August 12 and Thursday, August 13.
The 18th century estate, famous for its Lancelot Capability Brown landscapes and history as an RAF base, is among several National Trust properties affected by the fifth heatwave of the summer.

A spokesperson for the National Trust said: “Due to hot weather, we will have limited hot food offer in the café at the Visitor Centre and the Court Tearoom will be closed on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th August. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.”
An amber heat-health alert issued by the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) is in effect until 9pm on Friday.
Additionally, the Met Office has issued a rare Amber Extreme Heat Warning specifically targeting northeast parts of the county for Thursday.
