WITH another heatwave set to begin across Worcestershire and the West Midlands, here are five outdoor swimming spots to cool off.
Temperatures across the region could reach as high as 38 degrees in the coming days, with the Met Office issuing a rare amber weather warning for Thursday (August 13).

Swan Pool: Hidden within Sandwell Valley Country Park, Swan Pool offers a natural setting for outdoor swimming surrounded by greenery. The large lake is surrounded by a picturesque landscape, and is well known by locals as ‘the place to be’ when the temperature rises, making it a popular summer spot to hang out.
Sophie Gardner, a days out expert at West Midlands Railway, said: “When the temperature rises, people naturally start looking for ways to cool off without travelling too far.
“Here in the West Midlands, we’re lucky to have everything from outdoor pools and wild swimming spots to family-friendly splash areas – many of which are easy to reach via public transport – making it simple to enjoy a summer day out with the family.
“Wherever you’re heading, it’s important to choose designated swimming areas where possible and always follow local safety advice before getting in the water.”
