Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is inviting the public to enjoy a free family day out at its annual airbase open day.
The event will take place at Strensham Airbase on the Worcestershire and Gloucestershire border on Sunday, August 16 from 10am to 4pm.
It will offer visitors the chance to go behind the scenes of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s life-saving operations.
Visitors will be able to explore the charity’s helicopters and critical care cars, meet the crew, and learn more about the emergency response service that covers Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, and the wider Midlands region.
Julian Spiers, associate clinical operations director at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Opening our doors gives the communities we serve the opportunity to go behind the scenes of our operations and see first-hand how their support enables us to be there for patients when they need us most.
“Every mission we attend is made possible through the generosity of local people, businesses and supporters, and our open day is our way of thanking them for helping us save lives every day.”
The open day will also offer emergency response demonstrations, an interactive demonstration helicopter pod for children, artisan stalls, and refreshments.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has responded to more than 80,000 missions since 1991.
The service receives no Government funding and relies on public donations to continue operating.
Strensham Airbase is located at Strensham Northbound Services, near junction 8 on the M5 (WR8 0BZ), on the Worcestershire and Gloucestershire border.
The event is free to attend and does not require pre-booking, making it accessible to families, supporters, and anyone interested in finding out more about the charity’s life-saving work.
