WORCESTERSHIRE is set to swelter this week after health officials issued an amber heat health alert.
The warning, which starts today (Tuesday) at 9am and runs until Friday (August 14) at 9pm, means that significant impacts are likely.
The warning covers all of the West Midlands.

A spokesperson for UKHSA said: “Significant impacts are likely across health and social care services due to the high temperatures.
“These include a rise in deaths, particularly among those aged 65 and over or with health conditions, likely increased demand on all health and social care services, heat affecting the ability of the workforce and indoor environments overheating.”
The alert is also set to impact the management of medicines, staffing issues due to external factors like transport, increased demand for power exceeding capacity, and water-related incidents, including risks from cold-water shock and drowning.
