New landlords ‘absolutely thrilled’ as they take over Worcestershire pub

New landlords are “absolutely thrilled” to be starting a “meaningful” new chapter since taking over a pub in Stourport.

Martyn and Jane Amatt have officially introduced themselves the new landlords of The Bay Horse on Hartlebury Road.

The landlords, who have lived locally for many years, said they are “excited about what lies ahead” and hope the pub can become a space for people to catch up and come together.

Martyn Amatt said: “Jane and I are absolutely thrilled to be the new landlords of The Bay Horse. As people who have lived locally for many years and enjoyed the pub regularly, this new chapter feels especially meaningful to us.

“The welcome and support has been incredibly kind, and it has made us even more excited about what lies ahead.

“We want the pub to be somewhere where friends can catch up, neighbours can come together and everyone feels welcome, whether they are popping in for a quiet drink or joining us for a special occasion.”

The team have thanked the community for the support they’ve received and hope to make the pub a “warm and friendly” place for both regulars and new customers.

Customers are encouraged to pop in and say hello to the new landlords, who have plenty of ideas for the future of the pub.

Mr Amatt said: “We are looking forward to welcoming the familiar faces we already know, as well as those visiting from further afield and plenty of new faces along the way.

“We have lots of ideas for the future, but our main aim for now is simple: to make The Bay Horse a warm, friendly place for local people.”

Customers have already shared their well wishes for the team and praised the “lovely and friendly” atmosphere of the pub.

One customer said: “Wishing you both all the best in your new adventure see you soon.”

Another customer added: “Lovely people and all the best to you both.”
