‘Absolutely brilliant’ start for city centre café with ‘awesome’ doughnuts

PEOPLE have been flocking to a new cafe in the centre of Worcester which specialises in ‘awesome’ doughnuts.

It’s been just over two weeks since Guilt Trip Coffee and Doughnuts opened a new shop on New Street in Worcester after 6 years in the city.

The New Street location is the fourth store for the family business, with shops in Broadway and Cheltenham, as well as one on Weir Lane, which has been running for five years.

Owner Kurt Schonert said: “The first couple of weeks have been absolutely brilliant.

“We have been well received.

“People have said it’s a great little shop, and they love the doughnuts; the doughnuts have gone down very well.

“What’s been nice is seeing people who have visited us at Weir Lane come back and visit us on New Street.

“Weir Lane is just that little bit too far away when people are in the town centre, so we have had a lot of people visiting us on the High Street.

“New people are discovering how awesome our doughnuts are, which is great.

“It’s too early to tell which doughnuts are the most popular, but they are going down well.

“The best thing about the new shop so far is probably the visibility.

“We have been in Worcester for 6 years, but when you are in the city centre, people don’t really know what Guilt Trip is. But now we are getting a lot more recognition.”

Opening on July 17, the cafe offers a range of doughnuts, toasties, and more.

Including Blueberry Cheesecake, Summer Berries, and Death By Brownie.
