Days out just got cheaper thanks to a government-backed VAT scheme.
Churchfields Farm, a family attraction in Salwarpe, Droitwich, is offering customers extra savings this summer in line with the Treasury’s Great British Summer Savings scheme, which reduces VAT to 5 per cent on children’s meals and family tickets.
The farm is using the offer to give families more value through four different savings, including a free return visit.
Gillian Kerton, owner of Churchfields Farm, said: “With the cost of a family day out weighing on so many households this year, we wanted to make sure the government’s VAT cut actually reached our visitors — not just in the ticket price, but across the whole day.”
Visitors who book online for a visit between July 18 and August 23 will receive a free return ticket by email, valid for any date up to August 31.
Standard ticket pricing is being maintained, and for the first time, entry now includes the Wild West-themed maize maze.
The Cow Shed Café is also offering a discounted children’s menu throughout the holidays.
Ms Kerton said: “Two visits for the price of one, the maze included, and cheaper food for the kids means families can make the most of their summer without worrying about the cost.”
The farm’s Summer of Fun event runs from July 18 to August 31, from 10am to 5pm daily.
The full event falls within the government’s temporary VAT reduction window of June 25 to September 1.
Churchfields Farm offers a variety of events and activities throughout the year, including Sunset Sessions, sleepovers, toddler events, and seasonal programming.
The Salwarpe attraction also features a café, farm-made ice cream, and accommodation.
