A talk by a leading poverty expert has been brought forward for the England World Cup semi-final.
Joanna Mack, author of “Impoverished: How to Fix Britain’s Poverty Problem,” will now speak at The Hive in Worcester on Wednesday, July 15, starting at 6pm.
The event was originally set to begin at 6.30pm and finish at 8pm.
However, to allow attendees to watch the England v Argentina semi-final, it will now conclude at 7.30pm.
Ms Mack is among the nation’s leading experts on poverty and its causes, and her latest book explores ways to address these issues.
In her book, Ms Mack praised The Hive, which was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 2012, as an example of a shared public facility that can positively impact people’s lives.
The Hive, located in Worcester, is the UK’s first fully integrated public and university library, shared between the University of Worcester and Worcestershire County Council.
The event is free, but tickets must be booked in advance. To book, visit The Hive’s official website.
