PATIENTS are being reminded only to use hospital emergency departments if they are suffering serious injuries or illnesses after a spike in demand.
The reminder has been issued as both Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester and the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch experience high demand in their emergency departments.
A spokesperson for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, which manages both hospitals, said: “Our Emergency Departments at both Alexandra Hospital and Worcestershire Royal Hospital are ππ²πΏπ busy, but you can help by choosing the right health service for you.

“Remember A&E is for the most serious illness or injuries, other services include pharmacies, your GP practice, minor injury units (MIUs) and NHS 111.
“You can use NHS 111 online 24/7 if you’re unsure or need advice.”
