Free bus travel will be offered to service personnel, veterans, and cadets this weekend.
First Bus is providing the offer on Saturday, June 27, to mark Armed Forces Day and thank members of the military community, including serving personnel, veterans, and cadets.
Rob Pymm, director of customer proposition at First Bus, said: “This is an important occasion for many people who want to show their support for our Armed Forces and remember family, friends and others who have been lost in military service.
“We have many veterans working for First Bus across our businesses, and we’re very proud of their efforts and sacrifice.
“This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to them, as well as honouring all men and women who choose to serve and protect the freedoms of our country.”
To claim free travel, individuals must wear their military uniform, display medals, show a valid ID card, or wear the MOD Veteran’s Badge.
Armed Forces Day is a chance to recognise the contributions of service members, veterans, families, and cadets and is marked by events and services around the country.
First Bus employees who have served in the Armed Forces are also being encouraged to wear associated military dress while driving in service.
