CONSTRUCTION of a new housing estate in Badsey is expected to begin in less than a year, a developer has revealed.
Bromford Flagship LiveWest (BFL) intends to start building homes off Brewers Lane in early 2027 after purchasing the site in December.
The site has outline planning permission for 75 homes, which will all be ‘affordable housing’.
Catherine Jarrett, regional director of new homes at BFL, said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Northern Trust and Savills to see this land purchase through.
“We’ll be developing this site into an all-affordable housing scheme, to be built by our in-house construction team, and we’re really excited to see the homes and community grow and take shape as we bring more much-needed affordable housing to Wychavon.”
This total includes 20 homes at social rent, set at around 60 per cent of market rates, and 32 at affordable rent, capped at up to 80 per cent.
The remaining 23 homes will be offered through shared ownership.
Each property will include electric vehicle chargers and water butts to support sustainability goals.
Beyond the homes themselves, the development will bring improved transport links and dedicated visitor parking spaces to nearby facilities.
These will be used by Badsey Community & Sports Centre and Evesham Archery Club to help relieve congestion during peak periods.
The Brewers Lane development is funded by Homes England.

John Tootell, strategic land director at Northern Trust Land, said: “It is hugely rewarding to have the site in the hands of a developer to deliver the vision, and to see the site being brought forward as a 100% affordable housing scheme.
“This will make a meaningful contribution to meeting local housing needs in Badsey and the surrounding area, delivering real benefits for the community.”
