POLICE made an unexpected discovery after a van’s tyre exploded in front of officers on patrol.
West Mercia Police said OPU B shift officers were driving in a marked vehicle when a van passed them and its tyre suddenly blew out.
Officers stopped to assist the driver but quickly realised there was a clear reason for the incident.

They found the tyres were incredibly worn.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “OPU B shift were on patrol this week when a van drove past one of our marked vehicles.
“The tyre exploded right in front of them.
“When officers went to assist, it was clear why it had gone bang.”
